「Write for Rights（ライティングマラソン）」は、12月10日の「世界人権デー」の周辺に、世界中で一斉に手紙書きを行う、アムネスティ最大の人権イベントです。
今、世界中でたくさんの人の自由が脅かされています。ある国では、人権を守ろうと声を上げただけで投獄され、拷問などの暴力を受け、最悪の場合は殺害されてしまう人もいます。今年の「ライティングマラソン」では9つのケースを選び、当該政府や当局に対し、人権侵害の改善を求める手紙を書きます。
また、人権侵害の被害者には「あなたは一人ではないよ、世界中が応援しているよ」と、一緒に闘っていることを伝える応援メッセージを送ります。監獄の暗闇の中で不安におびえている人たちにとって、励ましや応援のメッセージは、希望の光になっています。
ラッシュモブやコンサート、マラソン大会など、2024年も世界中でさまざまなイベントが開催され、少なくとも4,662,638通の手紙やハガキ、署名が関連当局や人権侵害に遭っている人たちに届けられました。一人ひとりの力は小さくても、集まった手紙は大きな力となり、取り組んだ、およそ4割のケースで改善がもたらされています。

一人で書くのは不安、という人は、ぜひ友人や同僚を誘ってみてください。学校や職場近くのカフェなどで一緒に手紙を書くという人も、たくさんいます！また、アムネスティでは会員が中心となり、全国で手紙書きのイベントを行っています。ぜひ、お近くの会場に足をお運びください。

01. South Africa: Unecebo Mboteni

The Guerreras por la Amazonía are fighting to protect their communities from gas flares which are causing toxic fumes and environmental degradation in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Sign the petition and demand that Ecuador eliminates gas flares and protects climate defenders.
04. Cambodia：Mother Nature Cambodia
Join the fight to protect the Amazon The Guerreras por la Amazonía are fighting to protect their communities from gas flares which are causing toxic fumes and environmental degradation in the Ecuadorian Amazon. 06. Honduras：Juan López
Since 2015, Juan López and activists in Tocoa, Honduras, have fought to protect local rivers and a national park from mining and energy projects. In 2024, Juan was shot dead by a masked gunman. The alleged hitman and his accomplices have been charged and are in pre-trial detention. Those who ordered Juan's murder have not been held accountable. Take action now to demand justice.
07. Kyrgyzstan：Makhabat Tazhibek Kyzy
Journalist Makhabat Tazhibek kyzy is in prison right now, serving a six-year sentence for uncovering alleged corruption and reporting on poverty and social inequality in Kyrgyzstan. Sign the petition and call for her freedom now.
08. Myanmar：Sai Zaw Thaike
Photojournalist Sai Zaw Thaike was arrested and sentenced to 20 years in prison with hard labour for reporting on the aftermath of a cyclone in Myanmar. Sign the petition and demand that Myanmar's military immediately release Sai Zaw.
09. Tunisia：Sonia Dahmani
Sonia is a lawyer who has dedicated her life to defending human rights in Tunisia. She is currently imprisoned and faces many years behind bars. Her crime? Speaking out against racism and inhumane prison conditions. Sign the petition and demand her release now.
